Bill Loukas is an experienced lawyer and is a true generalist, equally comfortable practising in various areas of the law.
Bill mainly practices in Personal Injury including Workers Compensation, Work Injury Damages, TPD, Motor Accidents, Public Liability, Product liability, institutional sexual abuse, medical negligence, and professional negligence.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Bill was Managing Director of a medium-sized law firm with a focus on commercial law including commercial drafting, litigation, debt recovery, bankruptcy and corporate insolvency. The firm also undertook work in commercial and retail leasing, criminal, common law, commercial leasing and property sales, corporations, building and construction, land and environment areas and family law. Bill conducted a large amount of work on behalf of corporate trustees and official liquidators and gave advice related to corporate restructuring.
In the criminal jurisdiction, Bill is an experienced trial advocate having conducted a considerable number of jury trials both on behalf of accused individuals, and also as a non-commissioned Crown Prosecutor. He is comfortable practising in all areas of crime, including sentencing and appellate work.
Bill is currently a member of both the Legal Aid Criminal Advocacy Panel and a member of the NSW DPP Private Briefing Panel.
